Knowledge Management Coordinator, Strategy and Performance Department - Flexible within UK or Ireland location
Role
Reporting to the Group Knowledge Manager, the Knowledge Management Coordinator will be responsible for capturing knowledge from across the Sisk Group operating divisions and functions for sharing through the Knowledge Hub.
Predominantly, this will involve developing case study content in a written form, though the candidate will be encouraged to find the medium through which the information can be absorbed best.
In addition, under the guidance and management of the Group Knowledge Manager, the role will be responsible for administering the annual Research & Development (R&D) tax credit claim process in both Ireland and the UK, ensuring that Sisk’s R&D consultants get access to the information they need to build reports and writing up case studies on everything identified for sharing internally.
This role is in the Data Insights & Knowledge Management team and as such the successful candidate will be encouraged to maintain a strong database for drawing insights from our knowledge and R&D information. Support and guidance will be provided as necessary.
This is potentially an excellent role for bid writers and proposal coordinators looking to step back from the pressures of a deadline driven environment.

Location
The candidate will need to be based out of one of our Ireland or UK offices, with potential for some home working. However, the role will include travel to project offices across Ireland, the UK and Europe as necessary and the candidate must therefore have flexibility to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Support project staff to record good practice and learning including:
Working with the Group Knowledge Manager to identify knowledge to capture
Interview project staff to gather details required
Write-up case studies and assign tags for inclusion in the Knowledge Base
Support Lessons learned process
Support Group Knowledge Manager in taking notes at workshops
Track and write-up case studies identified through this process
Co-ordinate the annual R&D claim process including:
Tracking progress
Arranging meetings between the consultants and Sisk project teams, and note taking
Keeping good records of activity claimed and not claimed
Identifying and writing up case studies for R&D activity to share internally
Seeking to improve the process to reduce burden of effort and maintain good annual records
Support Knowledge Management team to maintain the Knowledge Hub
Qualifications
A strong capability with written English, evidenced through education and/or a role where writing reports, bids or similar was a main responsibility
An ability to simplify technical concepts for non-experts to understand
Strong organizational and co-ordination skills
A tenacious personality would be of benefit. You will be working with people who have other priorities and will need to be patient and persistent to deliver your output
A strong capability and willingness to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels, this will include phone calls and in-person visits alongside using digital tools
Ability and willingness to travel across Sisk geographies in Ireland, the UK and Europe. A driving license is essential, particularly for our Irish business
A history of working in the construction industry would be highly beneficial
Progression
This role will give the candidate a grounding in the skills and challenges of knowledge management in a construction industry environment. Opportunities will be available to develop facilitation skills, learn about lessons learned programmes and Lean techniques to support continuous improvement. It will allow the candidate to hone co-ordination and networking skills. All the skills required to develop into a multi-faceted Knowledge Manager role.
Working alongside the data insights team will also give the candidate an insight into data-driven knowledge management and provide more data-oriented opportunities for career development and growth.
