Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for an Occupational Health Registered Nurse at our Indiana Harbor operation in East Chicago, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have prior occupational nurse experience, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
The role will be part of our United Steelworkers (USW) union compensation, benefits, and pension agreement.

Pay: $39.97 per hour

Summary of Responsibilities: 
  • Maintains Indiana Licensure as Registered Nurse
  • Keeps up to date with changes in occupational health nursing & Worker’s Compensation regulations
  • Maintains DOT/ Biohazardous Waste Training
  • Evaluates, treats & educates employees who are inured or become ill on the job
  • Enters Workers’ Compensation injury claims into the electronic database, tracking data as needed
  • Communicates with health professionals & representatives to coordinate care, including scheduling follow-ups as needed
  • Communicates with departments to facilitate employees’ functioning, including transitional duty if needed
  • Provides Sickness & Accident evaluation / Return to Work coordination as needed, as well as physical exam visits
  • Maintains medical record documentation
  • Obtains & maintains necessary supplies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently licensed as Registered Nurse by the state of Indiana
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience as occupational health registered Nurse
