Overview:

We are in search of a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Terraform and AWS to join the Propylon Product team. This role is central to supporting the expansion of our product offering, providing an opportunity to contribute to our infrastructure enhancements and deployment processes.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing our AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring the highest levels of system reliability and performance. Collaborating with our development teams, you will work on integration of advanced DevOps practices, focusing on automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Implement, automate, and optimize deployment architectures and processes.
  • Integrate DevOps practices into development workflows.
  • Develop and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, with a focus on AWS services.
  • Uphold and enhance security and compliance standards within our AWS environment.
  • Contribute to continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) initiatives, leveraging AWS and Terraform expertise.
  • Operational issues support and BAU work for the platform.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing AWS cloud infrastructure with Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably in AWS.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, particularly Terraform.
  • Strong foundation in system and network security principles.
  • Basic GNU/Linux knowledge to troubleshoot issues, build images, etc.
Nice to haves:
  • Proficiency in Python, with the ability to write efficient, maintainable scripts and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, showing a keen understanding of how DevOps practices contribute to the product lifecycle.
  • Experience with a range of database technologies, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with in-memory data structures and caching solutions, like Redis.
  • Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or similar search engines, emphasizing performance tuning and scalability.
  • Web Application problem-solving and debugging in customer-facing environments.

This role is based from our Dublin-headquarter office, in Rathfarnham, South Dublin, though we operate a very flexible hybrid model which facilitates regular home-working.
