RTÉ is Ireland's national public-service media organisation. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally. 
 
RTÉ Operations is seeking a Television Broadcast Co-Ordinator (TV BCO) on a fulltime ongoing basis. In addition, a casual panel will be created to cover short-term vacancies on a flexible basis.  
 
As a TV BCO you will be an integral part of the programme production process, with a primary focus on supporting studio/gallery activity, and the generation of documents central to programme production and administration. You will work across Sport, Current Affairs, Entertainment and Serial Drama.  
 
Reporting to the Manager, Programme Support, the main duties of the post will include: 
  • Preparation of the programme for studio ensuring that all content and visuals are delivered to the programme including graphics / inserts / scripts / running orders / camera cards etc  
  • Acting as a liaison between the programme team and the studio operational team  
  • Playing a key role in the studio production process including time-management, shot calling and script supervision  
  • Post-Production administration including cue sheets, payments, and copyright etc 
  • Breaking down music for studio music director and calling beats 
 
Requirements:  
  • Direct experience in a professional television studio environment  
  • Significant experience in an administrative role, preferably in a broadcasting environment  
  • Excellent computer literacy skills including Microsoft Word and Excel  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
  • The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment  
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work  
  • A keen interest in Irish television output across all genres  
  
The following while not essential requirements are considered to be desirable:  
  • The ability to read music  
  • Knowledge and interest in sports coverage  
  • Experience working as a script supervisor  
  • A relevant 3rd level media qualification  
 
The position is based in Donnybrook, Dublin 4 however there is also a requirement to work from outside broadcast sites as and when required. The position entails irregular hours over 7 days including evenings and weekends.  
 
The appointment will be made on the TV Broadcast Coordinator scale from €32,946 - €52,372 gross per annum.

Following the short-listing process, selected applicants will be invited to attend for interview and a practical studio-based assessment. Applicants who are successful in achieving a place on the Television Broadcast Coordinator Panel will be offered a casual/irregular fixed-term contract.  Future vacancies may be filled from this panel which will last for two years.
